Deadline for submitting annual returns without penalty extended to 31st October 2020

The Companies Registration Office of Ireland has decided to extend the current arrangements in relation to the filing of annual returns to 31st October 2020.

Up to this announcement the date for filing had been 30th June 2020 and companies who had filed all elements of the annual return by that would be deemed to have been filed on time from the 18th March. Legally Companies must file their annual return in Ireland within twenty one days of the end of the financial year. A failure to file on time can mean the loss of important benefits such as audit exemption.

Following a review of the situation, the Registrar has now decided to extend the current flexible arrangement until the end of October. In other words for any companies whose annual return were due to filed form the 18th March 202, such companies have until the 31st October to file and not have their filing deemed late.
